What do you know about HCG detection?

HCG appears in the blood and urine of pregnant women as early as 10 days after conception. Quantitative HCG measurement helps determine the exact age of the fetus. It can also assist in the diagnosis of abnormal pregnancies, such as ectopic pregnancies, molar pregnancies, and possible miscarriages.

How soon can hCG be detected?
The urine test can detect hCG from around the time of your first missed period. The hCG blood test may detect pregnancy earlier — from about 1 week after conception. Your doctor can refer you for this blood test.
Can hCG be detected in 7 days?
This hormone is what we look for with a pregnancy test. HCG is first detectable in the blood as early as 7-8 days after ovulation by very sensitive HCG assays (research assays); however, most blood pregnancy tests detect HCG levels about 10-11 days after.
What is the earliest a pregnancy test will be positive?
Trace levels of hCG can be detected as early as eight days after ovulation. That means you could get positive results several days before you expect your period to start. However, the first part of your cycle is more variable than the second, making it tricky to determine the best time for an early test.
What should your hCG levels be at 2 weeks pregnant?
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels begin to rise in the second week of pregnancy, which is approximately four weeks after the start of your last menstrual period (LMP). BCG levels in early pregnancy can vary greatly, but typical levels during the second week (4 weeks from LMP) may be between 5 and 50 mIU/mL.
